Northwest U. women’s hoops, with Valley product on roster, see season come to end with playoff loss

Good Wednesday morning.

One item of note this morning to share and that is the postseason run for Cedarcrest HS grad Kalee Fowler and her Northwest University women’s basketball teammates proved to be a short one, as the Eagles fell to Eastern Oregon last night in the first round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference playoffs on EOU’s home floor in LaGrande, OR.

EOU, up 35-28 at halftime, outscored Northwest 20-9 in the third quarter, then cruised from there, handing the Eagles a season-ending 74-59 loss that finishes the 2015-16 campaign up for NWU at 15-16. Fowler played limited minutes off the bench for Northwest, with the 2014 CHS alum from Duvall and Eagle sophomore recording one rebound.

Eastern Oregon moves on to the conference semifinals.
