Athletes of the Week for 4-20

AotW’s now, with ladies’ selections.

CEDARCREST – To the links, and the Red Wolves have not seen an awful lot of action in the past couple of weeks thanks to spring break – they played in one tournament last week over in Chelan – so information on them is a bit hard to come by. But their top golfer thus far has been Casey Spurr, and we recognize her for her efforts here this week. In their most recent league match at the end of March, Spurr earned medalist honors. She and her Red Wolve teammates resume Cascade play tomorrow at Sultan.

MOUNT SI – Track and field has a pair this week. Junior Hannah Waskom (1600/3200m) and senior Curstyn Williamson (100/200m) both had top-ten finishes on Saturday in the events highlighted next to their names in parentheses at the Eason Invitational in Snohomish, considered to be one of the more higher-profile Saturday high school meets on the spring calendar. Waskom and Williamson have led the Wildcats in their respective disciples this spring, and will look to continue that this week as the team resumes Kingco action with a home meet Thursday.
