Athletes of the Week for 4-27

Athletes of the Week now, and we return to the boys for these.

MOUNT SI – Senior Jimmy Jacobson gets our nod this week on the strength of a hat trick – three goals – in last Friday’s 5-2 home win for the Wildcat boys’ soccer team over Inglemoor. Jacobson had been out for a few weeks with a knee injury, but returned to action last Tuesday in Mount Si’s 4-0 road win over Bothell, scoring a goal in that contest as well. Jacobson looks as if he will lead the way going forward for a Wildcat boys’ soccer squad that is 4-1-1 in league, 11-2-1 overall. Mount Si is at Issaquah tomorrow, then plays its final regular season game Thursday at home against Eastlake on Senior Night.

CEDARCREST – We were hoping to do a boys’ soccer one here for the Red Wolves as well, as they, too, are having a strong season – 9-1-1 in Cascade Conference play, 10-1-2 overall – but information is a bit hard to come by for them. So we substitute boys’ golf here and give Max Wing our nod; he carded a medalist round 34 for the Red Wolves’ boys’ golfers in their home match last Tuesday at Blue Heron Golf Course in Carnation against King’s, a match won by the Knights narrowly, 198-202. Wing and his teammates will continue their season this week as they approach the postseason.
