Athletes of the Week for 5-11

For the Athlete of the Week this week, we look at boys’ sports.

CEDARCREST – Soccer gets our nod, with Nik Reierson getting the recognition on the strength of his game-winning goal Saturday in the Red Wolves’ home 2-1 district playoff opening win over Squalicum. CHS, with that win, now meets Sehome tomorrow night in a winner-to-state district semifinal game up in Bellingham. Reierson, in addition to his soccer success, was also instrumental in helping the Red Wolve boys’ hoopsters over the winter.

MOUNT SI – We hit the lacrosse field this week and recognize Ben Lomas for his success with the Wildcats. Lomas is the Mount Si boys’ lacrosse team’s top scorer thus far this season, scoring 12 goals and adding four assists for the Wildcats, who are 3-10 and wrap up the season with three games this week, including a home game Saturday afternoon up at Jeanne Hansen Park on Snoqualmie Ridge. Lomas is one of 10 players who have scored goals this season for Mount Si.
