Mount Si baseball players, coaches make all-league postseason honors list

The Kingco Conference has released its all-league honors for 4A baseball, with several Mount Si High School baseball players making the list.

Pitcher/third baseman Jimmy Boyce was named the player of the year, and also earned first team honors at pitcher. The senior finished the season 3-1 with an earned run average of around one run a contest, and also hit better than .400 on the spring for the 18-7 Wildcats, whose season ended last weekend in the state 4A regionals with a semifinal loss to Gig Harbor.

Named coach of the year by the conference was Zach Habben, who led Mount Si from a last-place finish last season to a Kingco tournament title this season. Two players earned second-team recognition – juniors Owen Roche at first base and Gavin Gorrell in the outfield. Gorrell also was a pitcher this spring for Mount Si. Seniors Harrison D’Anna, Colin Anderson and Reid Lutz along with junior Mason Marenco were named as all-league honorable mentions.

The SVSJ congratulates these Wildcat players and coaches on their recognition.
