Also from volleyball, this college note:

Central Washington def. St. Martin’s, 25-20, 25-23, 25-14: At home in Ellensburg, the host Wildcats swept the Saints. Sophomore Liz Larson, from Snoqualmie and a 2015 Mount Si HS grad, had a block and two digs for St. Martin’s in the contest.

Here’s the rest of this morning’s news. We’ll have football picks and previews shortly.

Mount Si boys’ golf wins Senior Day match with Skyline
Freshman Drew Warford keeps getting better with every tournament he plays, scoring a season best 33 yesterday helping Mount Si eke out a 187-191 win over Skyline at Mount Si Golf Course in Snoqualmie (lower score wins) on Senior Day.

Jordan Lau, one of four seniors playing their last match as a Wildcat at home, fired a 37 pacing Mount Si. Gavin Gorrell fired a 39 while Jake Brady added a 40 aiding the Wildcat efforts. The fourth senior, A.J. Archambeau, did not compete.

Freshman Cooper Neil and juniors Mike Olson and Andrew Mischke all fired 39’s as well to contribute to the win for Mount Si, who wraps up the regular season next week at Inglewood Country Club in Kenmore.

College soccer
Central Washington women 4, Western Oregon 1: North Bend’s own Michaela “K.K.” Wallace scored a goal for Central as they rolled to the GNAC home win in Ellensburg over the visiting Wolves. Wallace, a sophomore and 2015 MSHS alum, scored the goal in the 74th minute off a feed from teammate Allie Bohnett. The tally was the first of the season – and second collegiately – for Wallace, who came off the bench and played over 30 minutes of the game, with the goal being on her lone shot on goal in the contest.

Seattle Pacific men 1, Montana State Billings 1: Regulation and two extra sessions were not enough for the Falcons and visiting Yellowjackets in Seattle last night as the two teams ended in a draw in a GNAC contest. Senior Davis Karaica, from Snoqualmie and a 2012 Mount Si HS alum, started on defense for SPU and worked all 110 minutes with no stats of note reported. Junior Chris Cole, from Duvall and a Cedarcrest HS grad, did not play for the Falcons.

California 4, Washington women 1: The Huskies fell on the road last night to the Bears in Berkeley in the first leg of their Bay Area weekend swing. Senior Miranda Rawlings, from North Bend and a 2013 Mount Si High School alum, played limited minutes off the bench in the second half for the UW with no stats of note reported.
