Mount Si girls’ golf scores final home win of season for their five seniors

Mount Si High School’s girls’ golf team posted a win on Senior Day yesterday at Mount Si Golf Course in Snoqualmie.

The Wildcats defeated Skyline 233-256 (lower score wins) to move to 5-1 on the season in league play. Kat Hodgson fired a medalist-round 38, her fourth straight medalist performance of the spring, to lead the Wildcats. Senior Auni Edwards, one of five seniors who played her final home match as a Mount Si player, paced things with a 46, and both Annie Burns and Tori Berger rounded out the league point-scoring rounds with each carding a 48.

The rest of the seniors also competed, with both Peyton Smothers and Rachel Warnke carding 53’s, Ashley Miller fired a 57 and Morgan Ross scored a 61.

Skyline was led by senior Elaine Kim, who shot a 42, and Kendall Foronda, who carded a 48. Mount Si is at Inglemoor to wrap up the season on Monday at Inglewood Golf and Country Club in Kenmore, then the postseason starts the following week with league and district tournaments in Snohomish, then state at the end of May.
