Mount Si volleyball takes care of Inglemoor

Mount Si High School’s volleyball team started out strong, and was able to close out a win last night on the road over Inglemoor at Inglemoor High School in Kenmore for their first Kingco 4A win of the season.

The Wildcats took the match in four sets, 25-8, 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, and were led by a strong effort from Breana Fitzgerald, who had 13 kills, three digs and ½ block to pace Mount Si. Adrianna Auxier had 10 digs along with a kill and two aces, and Jessica Hanners had a double-double of 15 assists and 13 digs in addition to five aces, both aiding scarlet and gray.

Molly Gill also had a solid match, with a pair of aces and 18 digs for the Wildcats, and Lillian Bachand delivered a strong performance in the libero role, with 33 digs, two assists, two kills and three aces.

Mount Si is at North Creek tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. first serve. The school is located at 3613 191st Place SE, in Bothell on the Snohomish County side. To get there, take I-405 to the Bothell-Everett Highway exit (#26), and exit north going towards Mill Creek. Turn right at 208th St. SE and head east up Maltby Road to the intersection of York Road; here turn left and head up York Rd., which will change into 35th Ave. SE. There is a “Y” along this stretch, take the left at this “Y”. At 191st Place SE, turn right and the school will be on the left at the top of the hill.

Wildcat JV bags victory: The Mount Si JV’s also picked up their first win of the league schedule, handling the Vikings 25-9, 25-23, 8-15. Chloe Stewart guided the Wildcats with 14 digs, and Megan Simpson pitched in 17 assists, three aces, three digs and ½ block. Lizzie Belceto added seven kills, three aces and a block to the Mount Si efforts. The Wildcats are at North Creek tomorrow for a 5:30 first serve. Directions to the school are above.

Strong serving guides “C” team to sweep: Kalli Tachell and Laura Anderson both had 10 aces apiece, and the team as a whole had 33 of those on serves, guiding Mount Si’s “C” team to a three-set sweep of the Vikings last night. Scores were 25-14, 25-21, 15-7. Tachell added four assists and Anderson also had four digs and a kill to pace the Wildcats, while Ana Jacobson added five aces, four kills and two digs to the Mount Si efforts. The Wildcats are at North Creek tomorrow for a 5:30 first serve.
