Thursday college scores

Good morning. Couple of games last night on the college front involving Valleyites to start your Friday. We have a preview and pick of the big Cedarcrest High School girls’ soccer playoff game coming up shortly.

St. Martin’s def. Simon Fraser 25-22, 26-24, 25-22: The Saints swept the Clan north of the border in Burnaby, BC, Canada last night, and in doing so, set a new school record for most wins in a season with nine. And a Valleyite aided the historic efforts. Junior Liz Larson, from Snoqualmie and a 2015 Mount Si HS alum, had five kills, four blocks, an ace and two digs to pace the SMU victory.

Loyola Marymount def. San Francisco 25-18, 25-16, 25-20: LMU opened its weekend swing to the Bay Area with a sweep of the Dons in the city by the Bay. Redshirt junior Lindsay Carr, she of Snoqualmie and a 2014 Mount Si HS grad, had a kill and two blocks in limited action for the Lions in the contest.

Fowler’s efforts not enough for Northwest U. women: Duvall senior Kalee Fowler’s eight points led Northwest U.’s women, but the Eagles were pounded last night on the road, falling 74-33 to Carroll College over in Helena, MT. Fowler, a 2014 Cedarcrest HS grad, was 3-7 from the floor with two three-pointers, and also had a rebound in 31 minutes of action for NU, who drops to 1-2 on the season.
