College basketball note to start a new week

Good Monday morning.

Light morning to start the week after what we hope was a tremendous Thanksgiving weekend for all of you. It’s on the college hardwood.

The University of Puget Sound’s women’s basketball team spent the holiday weekend in Portland playing a pair of NAIA teams, and a Valleyite factored in to both Logger victories.

Junior Elizabeth Prewitt, from Snoqualmie, recorded her first “double-double” of the season for UPS in their game on Saturday night, a 68-65 win over Warner Pacific. Prewitt, a 2015 Mount Si High School grad, scored 14 points and added 14 rebounds for the Loggers in 31 minutes of work on 4-14 from the floor with one three-pointer and 5-6 from the foul line. She also collected an assist and two steals in the contest.

The Loggers also won their game this past Friday that started their weekend trip, 69-49 over Multnomah. Prewitt had seven points and three rebounds in 16 minutes of work for UPS in that contest. The Loggers are now 3-1 on the season and open conference play Friday night at home in Tacoma against Whitworth. The 6:00 tipoff will be available live on NWC Digital, which you can find at right in our news links, or on such devices as Roku, Amazon Fire or Apple TV.
