News on this Wednesday

Good Wednesday morning. Light morning with just one item of note this morning, and that’s from college volleyball.

Northwest University’s women’s volleyball team started play in the NAIA national tournament last night, but things did not go well.

The Eagles were swept in the opener of the tournament in Sioux City, IA, by Missouri Baptist, 26-24, 25-16, 25-19. Freshman Courteney Carr, from Snoqualmie, saw limited action in the contest for NWU, with no stats of note. The 2017 Mount Si HS alum and her Northwest teammates continue play today at the tournament.

We should also mention on the local front, the Cedarcrest High School girls basketball team opens its season tonight at Liberty, and Mount Si High School’s boys’ JV and “C” teams both had their season openers with Bellevue canceled for last night. No word on a makeup for the cancellations.
