Mount Si boys fail to close game, fall at Issy

Mount Si High School’s boys’ basketball team could not hold the lead last night despite solid contributions from all three of their top players as they fell to Issaquah.

Bijon Sidhu, a former Eagle making his return to Issaquah for the first time since joining Mount Si’s program before the start of this season from IHS, scored 19 to lead the Wildcats, but the Eagles rallied in a furious fourth quarter to hand Mount Si another tough loss, this a 68-64 result.

Tyler Patterson added 16 to the efforts for the Wildcats while Jabe Mullins scored 13 and Brett Williams pitched in 12 to pace Mount Si, who shot 40% from the floor and recorded 26 rebounds.

The Wildcats held a 37-34 lead after three, but Issy outscored Mount Si 34-27 in the final frame to take the win and drop the Wildcats to 3-7 on the season.

Mount Si is at Newport on Tuesday.
