We’ll get to the hoops in a bit, but good morning, first off, and we start our Saturday morning with a wrapup on the gymnastics front from Thursday. Missing their top athlete, Mount Si High School’s gymnasts fell to Woodinville on Thursday night, 169.75-158.3 at Liberty High School in Redmond in a battle of two of the top teams in Kingco 4A.
The Wildcats were without top gymnast Sidney Aspinall, leaving it to some of her teammates to take up the slack, and many of them did. Anna Steenvoorde led Mount Si on the floor with a 9.3 score, and also took care of business on the beam, leading the Wildcats there with a 9.05. Tylor Zwieflhofer aided Mount Si as well on the floor (9.25), beam (8.05) and vault (7.8).
Rounding things out, Morgan Lowell led the Wildcats on the bars, with a score of 8.0, and Sarah Christopherson and Lauren Bennetts both had that same score on vault leading Mount Si in that event.
The Wildcats are home next Thursday hosting Eastlake for Senior Night. Meet time is 7:00 p.m. at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie.
