Mount Si gymnastics sends four to state

Mount Si High School’s gymnastics team will have four competitors at the state 4A gymnastics meet this coming weekend in Tacoma.

The Wildcats finished fourth in the SeaKing/Northwest 4A bi-district meet last night at Sammamish High School in Bellevue. Mount Si scored 158.05.

Finishing 10th in the all-around for the Wildcats was Tylor Zwiefelhofer, who scored 33.525. She earned berths to state in three events – the bars, beam and floor. Zwiefelhofer finished ninth in the bars, with an 8.525 score, then tied for 17th with teammate Sarah Christopherson on beam, with both scoring 8.2’s, and finished off on floor with a 15th-place finish in that event, scoring 9.05.

Christopherson earned berths in the beam with her aforementioned showing in that event and also on the vault, where she finished 19th scoring 8.325. Rounding it out, joining Christopherson in the vault event at state will be teammate Shelby Johnson, who took fifth in that competition, scoring a 9.05, and in the bars with Zwiefelhofer will be teammate Morgan Lowell, who finished 15th in that event at the district meet, scoring an 8.0.

The state 4A meet is Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.
