Skagit Valley College women’s hoops – with local athlete on roster – falls at home

Good Thursday morning. Again, as noted yesterday, it’s going to be light for the remainder of the week.

One item though from last night of note and that is from the hardwood. Skagit Valley College’s women’s hoops team was home last night in Mount Vernon, and they fell to Peninsula 78-75. Stats were not reported. Skagit dropped to 7-3 in NWAACC play, 13-12 overall, and sit in third in the conference’s North Division. They have earned a playoff spot, meaning Duvall’s Mieke Van Ess and her teammates will have some postseason basketball. Van Ess is a freshman this season with the Cardinals and a 2017 Cedarcrest HS grad.

Skagit plays again Saturday.
