Athletes of the Week for 4-18

Time for the Athletes of the Week.

MOUNT SI – Baseball, and two guys share it this week. Troy Baunsgard and Logan VanCampen both homered and drove in five runs each this past Friday for Mount Si’s varsity in a 24-3, yes 24-3, blowout of North Creek up north in Snohomish County. The Wildcats are very much in the thick of the Kingco playoff chase, just a game back of first place right now. They play again tonight, weather permitting, at Woodinville, under the lights.

CEDARCREST – Stats are a bit hard to come by from the Red Wolve boys’ soccer team, but the squad has, after a rocky start to the season, gone unbeaten in their past seven, including a three-game win streak capped off by a big victory over conference-leading Archbishop Murphy last Thursday. So, we’re giving the recognition to the whole team this week. CHS is 6-3-3 on the season and 5-1-2 in Cascade Conference play, with a biggie tonight at home against King’s at 6:00 p.m. that with a win could see the Red Wolves leapfrog the Knights and into second place in the league.
