Mount Si girls’ soccer wins game….by forfeit, plus college women’s soccer action from yesterday

We’ll wrap up football in a bit from last night, and another big win for Mount Si. However, we start with soccer and have some news concerning Mount Si High School’s girls’ soccer game for today.

Head coach Sophie Rockow informed the SVSJ last night that the scheduled Wildcat contest today against Graham-Kapowsin, which was scheduled to take place this morning (JV at 9:30 am and varsity to follow at 11:30) at Mount Si High School, has been canceled. G-K has elected to forfeit both games to the Wildcats, due to not enough available players. We were told by Rockow, and did confirm ourselves, that the school is hosting its Homecoming dance tonight, and apparently they had a significant number of players whose plans changed at the last minute resulting in them becoming unavailable.

Mount Si plays Skyline next Thursday at home.

College women’s scores from yesterday:

Hawaii Pacific women 2, Notre Dame de Namur 0: HPU handled NDNU as they continued their northern California road swing. Junior defender Camryn Buck, she of Ames Lake and a 2016 Mount Si HS grad, worked the full 90 with no stats of note reported for the Sharks.

Montana 1, Idaho State women 0: The Grizzlies handled the Bengals in the Big Sky battle in Pocatello, ID. Sophomore Rachel Brownell, from Fall City and a 2017 Mount Si HS grad, played the final 16 minutes of the game off the bench for ISU, with no stats of note reported.
