Red Wolves boys unable to maintain halftime lead, fall to Murphy

It was a tale of two halves last night for Cedarcrest High School’s boys’ basketball team in their game with longtime rival Archbishop Murphy. The Red Wolves held a halftime lead in the contest but saw the Wildcats outscore them 31-12 in the second half, enabling ATM to beat CHS 61-50 in a non-counting Wesco 2A/3A contest at Archbishop Murphy HS in Mill Creek. The two teams will meet again in a counting battle January 18 at Cedarcrest. Chris Busch led Cedarcrest with 14 points and Brennan LeBlanc added 11.

For Murphy, Mateo Trimble led all scorers with 17 points, while Cole Calnon and Sage Oliveria each had 14.

Cedarcrest is at Cedar Park Christian tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. tip as part of a doubleheader. The Red Wolve and Eagle girls tip things off at 5:15. Both games are at CPC’s campus in Bothell.
