News from Australia…..on the pitch

Down under earlier today in Australia, the Perth Glory women’s pro soccer team scored a 2-2 draw with Aussie W-League rival Adelaide United in Adelaide. North Bend’s Nikki Stanton worked the full 90 minutes for Perth in this one, with no stats of note reported. Her American summer league teammate, Sam Kerr, scored both goals for the Glory in the contest. Stanton and Kerr both are part of the NWSL’s Chicago Red Stars. The tie kept Perth deadlocked with Adelaide for second place in the league standings. Each team is 2-0-3 and has nine points, just a point up on third-place Canberra United. Perth is back in action on the 20th when they meet Sydney FC.
