Local athlete competing in conference championship college swim meet in front of home fans

Piece of news from the pool this morning.

Mount Si High School grad Julia Crumb competed in a pair of races last night for Pacific University of Oregon’s women’s swim team in the first night of action in the Northwest Conference (NCAA Division III) championships down at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Crumb, a freshman from Snoqualmie, was part of the Boxers’ 200 yard women’s medley relay and 800 yard women’s freestyle relay foursomes in last night’s action. Both Pacific relay teams finished in ninth place out of nine teams that competed in each of the races.

The 800 yard freestyle crew clocked eight minutes, 53.87 seconds while the 200 yard medley relay foursome finished in a time of 1:57.13.

The meet is slated to continue through this weekend, but could be shifted back as a result of the weather.
