More on last night’s Cedarcrest softball win

Quick little note about this morning’s Cedarcrest game story and it is something actually to keep an eye on this afternoon when they play Liberty as well. In addition to freshmen Kat Townley and Madelyn “Mad Dog” Davidson, there was a third freshman who dazzled last night in the 11-2 rout for the Red Wolves over Sedro-Woolley.

Allyson Smith went 3-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI’s for Cedarcrest hitting in the ninth slot in the batting order. When your ninth hitter is dangerous like this offensively, that’s a good thing because that shows plenty of depth, and Smith also being a freshman clearly shows that this freshman group the Red Wolves have is going to keep them very competitive within Wesco Conference play this spring once that gets rolling. So Smith will be someone to pay some attention to today in light of how well her freshman classmates also did last night.

Good stuff for sure and we wish the girls good luck this afternoon against the Patriots.
