Friday news and notes, 3-30

News and notes on this Friday:

Snoqualmie skier has another rough day at national championships
It was another tough outing on the slopes for Snoqualmie’s Anna Mounsey at the US Alpine ski Championships in Winter Park, CO, this morning.

Mounsey failed to finish today’s race, the super-G. We checked, and we were informed that she crashed during her run on the course this morning, but escaped injury and should be able to race tomorrow. All was not bad, though, for Mounsey, as she got to meet and race against a U.S. Olympic Team member today – that being Julia Mancuso, who won today’s race.

Mount Si fastpitch game postponed
Mount Si’s scheduled Kingco 3A fastpitch softball contest at Mercer Island against the Islanders coming up next Monday, April 2, was postponed today. Mercer Island postponed the game as a result of a lack of available players with the high school and the Mercer Island School District being on spring break next week. There have been rumors of a possible forfeit by the Islanders of this contest, but that decision has not been made yet, we are told. Should that come to pass, it won’t be a big issue for Mount Si, as they have routinely beaten the Islanders over the past few seasons.
