Mount Si grad honored for his excellence as a baseball coach

Mount Si High School grad Aaron Svarthumle has received a prestigious award for his performance as a high school baseball coach.

Svarthumle, who this spring was an assistant coach at Westview High School in Beaverton, OR, was named as the regional winner of the National High School Baseball Coach of the Year award. The award is handed out by the National High School Baseball Coaches’ Association, and Svarthumle was one of eight coaches from around the country honored with the award.

Westview, for those who are unaware, is where current Mount Si soccer coach Darren Brown previously coached high school soccer before coming to the Valley to coach the Wildcat soccer programs.

The Wildcats, as Westview’s teams are known, finished 26-5 this spring and tops in Oregon according to MaxPreps.com.

The SVSJ wants to offer our congrats to Svarthumle for this prestigious honor.
