More on Cribby’s surprise resignation as Mount Si baseball coach

A couple of notes for you today on the news from yesterday concerning Elliott Cribby’s resignation as Mount Si High School baseball coach.

First, the scheduled tryouts for the new Wildcat select under-13 baseball team are still on for tonight and tomorrow in Fall City. Cribby told the SVSJ by email that Zach Habben, who served on the Mount Si coaching staff this spring, will be the head coach of the U-13 Wildcat team, so there is not expected to be any change in plans regarding that club as a result of yesterday’s news.

Also, a quick note on Abilene Christian. We had mentioned in yesterday’s item that they would be in NCAA Division I next year and members of the Southland Conference. Well, it appears we were somewhat incorrect with that statement, although that may change. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the school is one of three seeking admission to the conference; the others being Incarnate Word and the University of New Orleans. No decision has been made on that application, reports the paper, who also adds the conference is visiting AC today to look things over before making a final decision.
