Mount Si High School hires new baseball coach, and he is no stranger to program

Mount Si High School has hired a new baseball coach.

The Snoqualmie Valley Sports Journal was informed by associate principal/athletic director Greg Hart last night at the Wildcat girls’ basketball game that the school has named Zach Habben the new coach. Habben, who was an assistant on last season’s Mount Si baseball coaching staff, replaces Elliott Cribby, who resigned back in August to take a college coaching position in Texas.

Habben is also slated to coach the Wildcat program’s new U-13 select team next summer, and that will continue. His long-term association with that team, however, will be governed by strict WIAA regulations regarding out-of-season contact with athletes by high school head coaches, so that issue will have to be addressed down the road.

We’ll try to reach out to Habben for some comment, and if we hear back, we’ll let you know.
