Mount Si boys fall again at San Diego tourney

Mount Si’s boys’ hoops team fell again today down at the Under Armour Holiday Classic in San Diego.

Today’s defeat came at the hands of a Canadian squad, the Walnut Grove Gators of the Vancouver, BC suburb of Langley. A 21-3 second quarter proved to be the difference as WG downed Mount Si 58-42. Jason Smith led the way with 12 points, while Jack Nelson added 11. Mount Si again today was without senior Trent Riley, who remains out with injuries. “It was another tough game today,” said Wildcat coach Steve Helm by phone from San Diego.

Mount Si plays tomorrow morning to wrap up the tournament, then the guys will come home and get some good rest in advance of a return to the Kingco schedule next week.
