Mount Si soccer players taking on the best in the region, and perhaps the best in the nation

We have some great news from the youth soccer pitch this morning.

First, at the US Youth Soccer Farwest Regional tournament in Honolulu, both of the local boys’ teams in the event with Mount Si High School players have advanced to the playoffs.

Crossfire FC Collings U17, with MSHS senior-to-be Aaron Baumgardner, scored a 3-0 win over the USA Patriots out of Utah to finish second in their pool, and the Eastside FC Strom U18, with Wildcat alums Kody Clearman, Alex Censullo and Davis Karaica, rolled to a 4-1 win over the Tucson Soccer Academy team out of Arizona.

Playoffs are tomorrow.

Also, the Eastside FC 95 White girls’ team, with MSHS players Kelsey Lindor and Sophia Rouches, punched a ticket to the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup national tournament after winning the regionals in that competition last weekend in Boise. Eastside, competing in the U17 division, eked out a 1-0 win over Rampage Black from Utah last Sunday to earn the trip to the national event, July 10-14 in Florida.
