Softball news….

Very light on the news this morning, with just two games to report. Both are from girls’ softball.

-In Huntington Beach, CA, the Washington Ladyhawks U18 Miller team will be looking for their first win today at the PGF national tournament after finishing pool play winless yesterday with another loss.
WLH fell 6-0 to Team Mizuno Stith out of Anaheim, as the Puyallup-based team was held to just two hits. One of those Ladyhawks hits was recorded by Mount Si High School senior-to-be Celine Fowler, who played left field in the game for WLH.

-In Sunnyvale, CA, it was a good start to the ASA U16 ‘A’ national tournament for the Snohomish Shock.

The Shock, which feature a couple of players from Cedarcrest High School (Halie Gerde and Kayla Blakslee), scored five runs in the first and rolled to a 9-1 win over Nemesis Elite of California. The Shock pounded out 17 hits as the local team got it done in their opener. They’ll be in action later on today in the tournament.

Also later on today, the Issaquah Flame U14 Zacher team, with Mount Si sophomore-to-be Bayley Barnett among others, will be starting play at their ASA national tournament in Utah.
