Mount Si teams in action last night

Some news from Mount Si from last night. We should also mention the Wildcat volleyball team suffered its first league loss in at least two years last night to Mercer Island in four. We’re waiting on stats from that and will have that for you soon here on SVSJ.

Mount Si boys’ tennis falls to tough Bellevue team
Mount Si’s boys’ tennis team closed out the week yesterday with a loss to Bellevue. The Wolverines won all seven matches played, with all except one being in dominating fashion.
The one which the Wildcats made Bellevue work for was in the #4 singles, where Jake Miller of Mount Si won the first set against Bellevue’s Chris Graham before Graham rallied to win the final two sets and that match. Scores were 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 for the Wolverine player. Josh Hamann, Nate Popp and Azhar Khandekar also fell in their singles matches while all three doubles pairs from Mount Si (Kevin McLaughlin/Matt Griffin, Alex Pease/Clint Christen, Jordan Koppa/Rhett Haney) also fell in their matches.

Wildcat girls soccer comes up short against Wolverines
Mount Si’s girls soccer team dropped to 2-4 in league with a 2-1 loss last night to Bellevue at Bellevue High School. Kiki Olsson scored the lone goal in the second half for Mount Si, and for the sophomore, it was her first varsity goal. Wildcat coach Darren Brown offered praise for the Wolverines. “Bellevue executed nicely tonight and our distribution suffered collapsing our shape for most of the evening,” Brown said in comments on Mount Si’s girls’ soccer website. “This cost us and pulled us out of our attack going forward.”

Mount Si is home to close out the first half of the schedule Tuesday against Mercer Island at 7:30 p.m. Noting that the Wildcats have been a strong second-half of the season team in recent years, Brown indicated confidence that his club can get things going. “This team can do it…we have to keep chipping away,” he said.

Wildcat JV girls’ soccer rolls to win
K.K. Wallace and Ivy Paradissis were among four different Mount Si players that scored goals to help Mount Si’s JV girls’ soccer team to a 4-1 win last night at Bellevue. Wallace also had two assists as the Wildcats continued their solid start to the season.
