Good Wednesday morning. Here’s the news and notes. We’ll try to get some Cedarcrest scores for you later on today, as both girls’ soccer and volleyball were up at South Whidbey last night.

Mount Si girls soccer routed on Mercer Island
For the second straight game, the Wildcat girls’ soccer team was held scoreless as they fell last night 4-0 at Mercer Island against the Islanders. Mount Si will look to break out of their offensive slump tomorrow at Liberty.

College golf: Harrelson, Kelly compete in tournaments
Ex-Mount Si golf stars Brad Harrelson and Jack Kelly both have wrapped up play at their college golf tournaments this week.

Harrelson, a senior at Montana State-Billings, came into Monday’s final round at the RMC invitational in Billings, MT, with a tie for the lead, but was not able to keep pace with his challenger and ended up finishing second. The 2010 Mount Si High School grad from Snoqualmie fired a final-round 73 and finished four shots back of winner Daniel Thompsett of Rocky Mountain College, who had been tied with Harrelson going into the final round and himself fired a 69 to score the win. Harrelson finished with an even-par 213 on the par-71 Peter Yegen Golf Course layout after rounds of 72 and 69 Sunday in addition to the 73.

Meanwhile, Kelly, a sophomore at Western Washington, struggled at this week’s Golfweek Invitational in Sunriver, OR. Kelly, a 2011 MSHS grad from North Bend, fired rounds of 82, 86 and 84 Monday and yesterday to finish with a score of 252, well above par on the par-71 Crosswater Golf Course layout.

Both are expected to be in action for a tournament next week in California. Both the Vikings and Yellowjackets will be at the event, hosted by Chico State.
