Mount Si falls in weekend game at girls’ hoops tournament

Mount Si High School’s girls’ basketball team will be wrapping up play today at the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego, with a morning matchup for third place in their division against a team from Arizona.

Back on Saturday, the Wildcats fell to Maranatha of Pasadena, CA, 61-47. Elizabeth Prewitt led the way for Mount Si, scoring 14 points and recording nine rebounds, but the Wildcats struggled from the floor, hitting only 29% from the floor and 50% from the foul line. Mount Si was also outrebounded 47-31 by the California team in the contest.

Madi Bevens added 12 to pace the Wildcats. Channon Fluker carried her Maranatha team on her back in the game, recording a double-double of a game-high 30 points and 13 rebounds to lead the winners. Noelle Oki added 12 points and eight rebounds to aid Maranatha.
