Mount Si volleyball players competing in major club tournament this weekend

We have a small item from club volleyball for you today.

It may be snowing and quite cold right now in Denver, CO, but teams are arriving there today in the Mile High City for a big national tournament qualifier. Two local teams with Mount Si High School athletes are among those making that trip.

The tournament is called the Colorado Crossroads, and this is the second weekend of play in that event. This weekend’s action will feature U-16 through U-18 teams, including teams from Bellevue-based Sudden Impact. Their U16 team, with Wildcat sophomores Courteney Carr and Katie McCreadie, and their U18 squad, with Katie’s older sister, MSHS senior – and Santa Clara signee – Anna McCreadie, are competing, with action starting tomorrow and going through the weekend.

We should mention as well that U-15 teams took part in last weekend’s round of action at the Colorado tournament; the SIVBC entry in that age group, featuring Wildcat freshman Amanda Harkleroad, finished in a tie for 55th in the U-15 “American” division out of 150 teams entered; SIVBC went 3-3 on the weekend with wins over two teams from Colorado and another from Texas.

This weekend’s tournament is being held at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. We’ll keep you posted on news from there as we get it.
