As we told you on Monday, Mount Si High School’s football game this Friday at home against Skyline is scheduled to be televised, by ROOT Sports. However, as we mentioned for you briefly yesterday, there is also scheduled to be a webcast of the game as well. Here’s what you need to know about that webcast.
As was the case two years ago, when the Bellevue-based regional sports network broadcast the Wildcats’ state playoff game against Bellevue at the Tacoma Dome, and has been the case thus far this season, ROOT Sports high school football games are available on the web via the WIAA Network, and that once again will be the case this week. The WIAA Network provides live and on-demand high school sports action from around the state. Cedarcrest High School fans probably are aware that Cascade Conference rival Sultan webcasts all its home games through this service.
For fans wanting to watch the MSHS-Skyline game on the web, there are some very important things to know. First, unlike two years ago, to access it live you will need to sign up for a paid subscription to the Network services. There’s four different pricing plans available, ranging from $9.95 to watch just this game only on up to $119.95 for the whole year. You can sign up through the WIAA Network’s website, which we will have linked at right in our news links for you. We should mention for Cedarcrest High School fans as well that for you to view any of the Red Wolves’ road games against the Turks that Sultan will be webstreaming, you will also need to sign up for one of these paid subscriptions.
As noted, there’s also on-demand access available after the game; this is free but will also require you to sign up for an account at the site.

Friday night’s webcast will be a live stream of the actual ROOT Sports broadcast, which will have Brad Adam and Taylor Barton on the call. It is not known at this time if the live stream will be available in areas that lie within the ROOT Sports footprint of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska or Montana. Fans outside of this area who do not have access to ROOT should be able to see the webcast live for the above stated fees.
We should also mention as a reminder that the TV broadcast on ROOT will be shown on tape delay following the conclusion of the Seattle Mariners-Houston Astros game Friday night, so around 8:30 or so; the game will start at the normal start time of 7:00 p.m. for fans who wish to come see the game in person. It should also be noted that with a large crowd expected, it might not be a bad idea to get down there early; gates should open around 60 minutes prior to kickoff. ROOT is available on Comcast, Dish and DirecTV; out-of-area satellite subscribers to either Dish or DirecTV can order their service’s sports pack to get ROOT and the game will not be subject to blackout.
